Dear Joe,
My name is Sean Jakucenis and I am writing to thank the American Youth Motorsports Team and the Doug Foley Drag Racing School for the neat racing stuff you sent to me. I have the dragster piston on a shelf in my bedroom that I keep all of my racing things on. I put it right next to the model of the funny car you also gave me. I wear the T-shirt from the racing school to bed except when my mom makes me give it to her to wash.
It means a lot that you did this for me. I have just finished three years of chemotherapy for leukemia at Scottish Rite Children's Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. I was diagnosed when I just turned four years old. My mom says I loved to watch car racing when it was on television when I was only three. Having cancer, I was always too weak to play sports, so my interest in cars and racing took over. I can't wait until AYMT starts letting us race in the junior dragsters. I think that would be the coolest thing in the world to do.
Please let me know when I can race with you. I hope it is soon. Thanks again to you and Doug for everything.
Sincerely,
Sean Daniel Jakucenis
